Cops arrived to the Algiers Motel because one of the teens made a shot from the starter gun in the air inside of the motel room. Cops claimed that Carl Cooper was already dead when they found him. Experts say Cooper was killed by police shotgun. According to the witnesses cops were firing in to the rooms and then were checking if there were people. Temple and Pollard were killed that night by police.

According to pathologist Dr. Robert Sillery who examined bodies of teens, “all three had been killed inside the home and all had been shot twice, shot from slightly behind and at close range.” None of cops spent more than one night in jail for that. Their names are Ronald August (who killed Aubrey Pollard), Robert Paille (he killed Fred Temple). David Senak and Ted Thomas were involved in the incident, too.
